“All-of-the-above energy”  means we are working to secure Montana’s future with affordable, reliable, American-made energy by supporting all available resources including coal, oil, natural gas, wind, solar, nuclear, hydropower, storage, and transmission.

If Montana wants to continue attracting investment, creating good-paying jobs, and strengthening our economy, we need the energy infrastructure to support that growth.

Fortunately, Montana has something many states don’t: an extraordinary diversity of energy resources—coal, oil, natural gas, wind, solar, nuclear, hydropower and storage, backed by the transmission needed to deliver that power. 

Montana continues to enjoy some of the lowest electricity prices in the country, about 20% below the national average. As demand grows, we need to protect that advantage by ensuring new growth is matched with new energy supply and infrastructure. We shouldn't have to choose between growing industries or affordable, reliable electricity. We should build the energy supply necessary to support both.

We support economic growth in Montana. 

Whether we’re talking about industrial manufacturing or data manufacturing, growth requires one thing: more power.  Montana’s high-tech sector is already an important and rapidly growing part of our economy. According to the Montana High Tech Business Alliance, from 2014 to 2024, the sector grew at twice the rate of Montana’s overall economy, generating $7.9 billion in revenue in 2024 and supporting jobs with average wages of $146,000.
